Removal
Stand
Identify the stand highlighted in blue.
Press and hold down on the tab that secures the stand to the display assembly base.
Lift the stand off the display assembly base.
Identify the stand location highlighted in blue.
Align the stand to the slot with the display assembly base.
Slide the stand into place into the slot on the display assembly base.
Back Cover
Identify the back cover highlighted in blue.
Using your palm, gently pry the back cover from the top corners of the display assembly base.
Lift the back cover off the display assembly base.
Identify the back cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the slots on the back cover with the slots on the computer.
Slide to install back cover and press along the side to snap the back cover into place.
I/O Cover
Identify the I/O cover highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the I/O cover to the display assembly base.
Using a pry tool, pry open the corners and bottom of the I/O cover.
Pry open at the corner and lift the I/O cover off the display assembly base.
Identify the I/O cover location highlighted in blue.
Place the I/O cover on the display assembly base and align with screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the I/O cover to the display assembly base.
System Board Shield
Identify the system board shield highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the system board shield to the display assembly base.
Lift the system board shield off the display assembly base.
Identify the system board shield location highlighted in blue.
Place the system board shield on the display assembly base and align with screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the system board shield to the display assembly base.
Memory Module
Identify the memory module highlighted in blue.
Using your fingertips, carefully spread apart the securing clips on each end until the memory module pops up.
Hold the edges and carefully lift the memory module up from connector on the system board.
Identify the memory module location highlighted in blue.
Align the notch on the memory module with the tab on the slot and slide the memory module into the slot at an angle.
Press the memory module down until it clicks into place.
Media Card Reader
Identify the media card reader highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the media card reader to the display assembly base.
Lift the latch and disconnect the media card reader cable from the system board.
Slide and remove the media card reader along with its cable from the media card reader slot.
Wireless Card
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the wireless card bracket.
Slide and remove the bracket to access the WLAN cables.
Disconnect the antenna cables (black and white cables) from the WLAN.
Slide and remove the WLAN card from the connector.
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Insert the WLAN into the connector on the system board.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Slide and install the bracket to secure the antenna cables.
Install the screw that secures the wireless card bracket.
Solid State Drive (SSD) 2230
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD to the system board.
Slide and lift the solid state drive (SSD) from the system board.
Identify the solid state drive location highlighted in blue.
Align the notch on the SSD with the tab on the slot and slide the SSD into the slot.
Install the screw to secure the SSD to the system board.
Coin Cell Battery
Identify the coin cell battery highlighted in blue.
Push the release lever on the coin cell battery socket to release it from the socket.
Lift the coin cell battery from the socket.
Identify the coin cell battery location highlighted in blue.
Insert the coin cell battery into the socket with the positive side (+) label facing up.
Snap the battery in the socket.
Stand Hinges
Identify the stand hinges highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the right and left stand hinges to the display assembly base.
Lift the stand hinges off the display assembly base.
Identify the stand hinges location highlighted in blue.
Place the stand hinges on the display assembly base and align with screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the stand hinges to the display assembly base.
Power Button Board
Identify the power button board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the left stand hinge to the display assembly base.
Lift the left stand hinge from the display assembly base.
Remove the screw that secures the power button board to the display assembly base.
Peel the tape that secures the power button board cable to the power button board.
Lift the power button board from the tabs on the display assembly base.
Lift the latch and disconnect the power button board cable from the power button board.
Lift the power button board off the display assembly base.
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the backlight and fan cables from the system board.
Disconnect the speaker and microphone module cables from the system board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the power button board and display cables from the system board.
Loosen the captive screw that secure the heatsink.
Remove the screws that secure the system board to the display assembly base.
Remove the solid state drive screw mount that secures the system board to the display assembly base.
Lift the system board assembly off the display assembly base.
Speakers
Identify the speakers highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.
Unroute the speaker cable from the routing guides on the display assembly base.
Lift the speakers along with its cable from the display assembly base.
Identify the speakers location highlighted in blue.
Install the speakers into their slots on the display assembly base.
Route the speaker cable to the routing guides on the display assembly base.
Connect the speaker cable to the system board.
Antennas
Identify the antennas highlighted in blue.
Unroute the antenna cables from the routing guides on the display assembly base.
Peel the copper foil that secures the antenna cables on both sides of the display assembly base.
Lift the antenna modules off the display assembly base.
Install
Antennas
Identify the antennas location highlighted in blue.
Install the antenna modules into the slots on the display assembly base.
Adhere the copper foil that secures the antenna cables on both sides of the display assembly base.
Route the antenna cables through the routing guides on the display assembly base.
Speakers
Identify the heatsink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the heatsink into the slot on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heat sink. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board assembly location highlighted in blue.
Install the system board assembly on the display assembly base and align with the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the system board to the display assembly base.
Install the solid state drive screw mount that secures the system board to the display assembly base.
Tighten the captive screw that secure the heat sink. Do not over tighten.
Connect the power button board and display cables on the system board. Close the latch to secure.
Connect the backlight and fan cables on the system board.
Connect the speaker and microphone module cables on the system board.
Power Button Board
Identify the power button board location highlighted in blue.
Connect the power button board cable to the power button board. Close the latch to secure.
Use the tabs to line up the power button board then slide it into the slot on the display assembly base.
Adhere the tape that secures the power button cable to the power button board.
Install the screw that secures the power button board to the display assembly base.
Place the left stand hinge to the display assembly base.
Install screws that secure the left stand hinge to the display assembly base.
Stand Hinges
Identify the heatsink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the heatsink into the slot on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heat sink. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
Coin Cell Battery
Identify the heatsink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the heatsink into the slot on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heat sink. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
Solid State Drive (SSD) 2230
Identify the heatsink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the heatsink into the slot on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heat sink. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
Wireless Card
Identify the heatsink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the heatsink into the slot on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heat sink. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
Media Card Reader
Identify the media card reader location highlighted in blue.
Place the media card reader under the system board and align the screw hole on the display assembly base.
Connect the media card reader cable to the system board. Close the latch to secure.
Install the screw that secures the media card reader to the display assembly base.
Memory Module
Identify the heatsink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the heatsink into the slot on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heat sink. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
System Board Shield
Identify the heatsink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the heatsink into the slot on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heat sink. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
I/O Cover
Identify the heatsink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the heatsink into the slot on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heat sink. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
Back Cover
Identify the heatsink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the heatsink into the slot on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heat sink. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
Stand
Identify the heatsink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the heatsink into the slot on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heat sink. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
