Dell Named File and Object Storage Market Leader

Your success is our passion: Dell's unwavering commitment to technology leadership.

In the ever-evolving world of technology, consistency and excellence set industry leaders apart. Dell Technologies has once again demonstrated our unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence.

We are recognized as a Leader in Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Distributed File Systems and Object Storage for the eighth consecutive year.

Our Pride, Your Trust

This recognition fills us with immense pride, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our community of customers and partners. Your trust and support have been the cornerstone of our journey. Your belief in Dell PowerScale and ECS has propelled us to this moment.

Dell PowerScale and ECS are scale-out file and object storage platforms, designed to effortlessly manage large amounts of unstructured data while optimizing costs and offering unparalleled scalability within their distributed architecture. It’s all about your data at the core of our approach. Hence, we’ve seamlessly integrated robust data management features into PowerScale and ECS, facilitating the processing and analysis of extensive data volumes, aligning with the demands of modern workloads such as AI. We have navigated through the rapidly evolving tech landscape, embracing innovations like the surge of public cloud, automation, genomics, robotics, the Internet of Things and the exciting realm of artificial intelligence.

Embracing Change

Change is not just a constant; it’s our compass. With every disruptive force on the horizon, we pledge to stand by you, championing your endeavors so you can convert challenges into competitive advantages. Over the past 12 months, our achievements and recognitions in the file and object category have been remarkable.

We successfully introduced the OneFS software-defined platform in AWS (APEX File Storage in AWS) and launched a new customer-managed option for on-premises APEX Data Storage Services. Additionally, our team improved performance significantly, delivering up to a 55% increase on all-flash systems compared to the previous OneFS release, making it ideal for new workloads such as generative AI. We also bolstered security with features like host-based firewalls, SSO, FIPS compliance and more, effectively addressing emerging threats and ransomware attacks, which was recognized with U.S. Department of Defense Approved Product List certification. Furthermore, we made substantial strides in energy efficiency, particularly with QLC drives. For Dell ECS, our innovations include the ability to copy ECS data to an external S3 bucket, bucket-level data movement policies with QOS capabilities and robust server-side encryption and logging support. We are pleased with our accomplishments but remain perpetually hungry for improvement.

Looking Ahead

Eight years as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant is not just a recognition; we believe it’s a testament to Dell’s unshakable commitment to pioneering technology solutions. It’s a testament to your trust and the partnership we’ve forged. With the ever-changing technology landscape, we embrace the future with open arms, knowing that, together, we will continue to shape the world of technology.

We have been working hard to deliver new and exciting solutions in the AI space. We believe that without data, there is no AI. Access to data, data accuracy and preparation are as important as the compute and storage infrastructure we use to generate insights from AI. I welcome you to tune in to our special event AI Anywhere on Data Everywhere on Dec. 7 at 11 AM CT. Don’t forget to register for the event.

Thank you for choosing Dell; your success is our greatest achievement.
