In this video, I will show you how to replace the memory module in your Alienware Aurora ACT1250. Before you begin, create a recovery drive and backup all data. Ensure that your computer is turned off and all connected devices are unplugged. Remember to use ESD protection when you are working inside the computer to ensure your personal safety. For more information on ESD protection, refer to the Alienware Aurora ACT1250 Owner's Manual.
To begin, loosen the captive screw that secures the left side cover release latch to the chassis, then pull left side cover release latch to release and lift the left side cover away from the chassis. Lay a computer on its right side. Then locate the memory slot.
Push the securing clips away from the memory module, then hold them by the edges and lift it out from the computer. Repeat these steps for removing the second memory module if installed. Ensure the memory module securing clips are pulled open. Align the notch of the memory module with the tab on the slot. Press the memory module into the slot until it snaps into position.
To install the left side cover, place the computer upright. Locate the tabs on the cover and slots on the chassis. Rotate the cover towards the chassis until it clicks into place. Finally tighten the captive screw that secures the left side cover release latch to the chassis. For more information about the Alienware Aurora ACT1250, visit Dell.com/Support.
