Game Stops Responding When Switching to Second Screen Only Display Mode

Symptomer

The following article provides information about what to do when a Game becomes unresponsive. This occurs only when changing to second screen only display mode.

 

You may experience the following symptoms on the Alienware x15 R1, and Alienware x17 R1 gaming laptops:

  • The games display stops responding, the sound stops, and the cursor does not work in this window.
  • You can switch to other open windows, applications, and the sound and cursor work as normal.

This issue has only been seen when you switch the output display to the Second screen only display mode. This has been seen on the games League of Legends, and Dungeon Fighter Online (Figure.1):

Årsag

The video frame of the game stopped refreshing because the graphic display buffer halted.

Løsning

Note: This is a limitation of the games being played.
 

These two games do not support switching the display mode during play. You must set the second screen only mode, before you start either of these games.

There is no issue with the other display modes.
