APEX AIOps Observability: The deployment of a new integrated gateway (eVE) is no longer supported
Summary: As of Aug 22, 2024, the deployment of a new integrated gateway (eVE) is no longer supported under APEX AIOps Observability (formerly CloudIQ).
Instructions
August 22, 2024:
A recent IT update is impacting the installation of APEX AIOps Observability Collector (CloudIQ Collector (aka CIQC)). Deployment of new integrated gateway (eVE) is no longer supported meaning that brand new CIQCs can only be deployed using an existing centralized gateway under Secure Connect Gateway (SCG). This will also prevent switching an existing collector from a centralized gateway to an integrated gateway. This will be the case until a new version entirely based on Embedded Service Enabler (ESE) (i.e. direct connect, gen4) is released. Existing CIQCs using the integrated gateway are not impacted. ETA for this is the end of the year.
A new version of the collector, 1.15.4 has been released under CIQD-50792. The new version disables the ability for new customers to configure and integrated (EVE) gateway.
For those existing customers that originally configured their collectors to an integrated gateway what has been seen thus far is that the automatic update is failing.
If the customer decides or support manually updates the collector to the latest version it continues to run without issue using the integrated gateway under Secure Remote Services. This may be confirmed by running the diagnostic files on the gateway under Secure Remote Services.
The test feature built into the collector however is now broken and the status will now show as "In Trouble" even though the collector is working as it should.
