Cause

Human error or the flash memory has failed if the startup configuration is unreadable.

Resolution

The issue is that the working (in memory) configuration of one or more of the Arista or Dell switches does not match their saved configuration.

If the switch were powered cycled or rebooted, the switch reverts to what is saved and that could regress the switch to a nonworking state. While it is likely the working configuration is also the best configuration, this is not guaranteed.

Determine which settings are best and make it so the working and saved configurations are the same. By doing this, the switch survives a power cycle or reboot without regression.
