Dell EMC Unity: Failed to create snapshot with error 1903001809 (User Correctable)

Symptoms

Tried to create snapshot (either Scheduled or Manual).

We get following error when trying to create Snapshots:
"Failed to create snapshot <timestamp> of storage resource <File system name> with error 1903001809". 

We find the below entries in "EMC System Log file"

Cause

The maximum number of checkpoint file system snapshots have already been created on this array.

Resolution

  • Check for the maximum limit of Checkpoint snaps as per the array.
  • And request the customer to change the snapshot schedule by following https://support.emc.com/kb/486063
  • In my case it was Unity 300 and max. checkpoint snaps was 500.
