Data Domain: Support bundle generation taking excessively long

Support bundle generation takes an excessively long time (longer than 30 mins and can exceed 2 hours), whether started from the command line or the GUI.  

• This causes a delay in providing the support bundle to DataDomain, which may delay troubleshooting.
• For systems integrated with DLm it can result in a timeout from DLm when requesting a support bundle via this method.

Part of the support bundle generation processes rely on an internal command being run at least twice to gather information.  Internal timeouts within the command can result in the command taking in excess of an hour to run, blocking the completion of the support bundle generation during this time.

This issue is intended to be resolved in a future release of DD OS.

There is a workaround which can be applied by DataDomain support for impacted systems, requiring an extra option to be added to an internal script which reduces the duration of the slow command, thus improving the support bundle generation time.  Please contact your contract support provider for assistance.
