Symptoms

The following error displays when running a 'symdm create' for a NDM: 

STARTING a DM 'CREATE VALIDATE' operation for SG 'MY_STORAGE GROUP'.

The DM 'CREATE VALIDATE' operation FAILED.

Cause

The initiator referenced in the log is on the source array.
In this case, it was not logged in to the frame.
It was also not zoned to the remote new frame. 


 

Resolution

Removed the host that NDM complained about from the initiator group, and the command completed successfully:
