Symptoms

Add VNXe iSCSI servers interfaces in Dynamic and Static Discovery.

Initiator health status shows warning:
kA2f1000000X3XRCA0_3_0

Cause

From ESXi host, iSCSI Software Adapters Dynamic and Static Discovery does not list any targets:
kA2f1000000X3XRCA0_1_0

Resolution

Discovery:
A discovery is a part of the iSCSI protocol, which has set of IPs (Targets) you can communicate/access on iSCSI settings (iSCSI interfaces). Dynamic discovery obtains a list of accessible targets from the iSCSI settings -> iSCSI interfaces, while static discovery can only try to access one particular target by target name.

Dynamic Discovery:
When the initiator communicates to specified iSCSI server on VNXe, the initiator sends the Send Target request to the server.
iSCSI server responds by supplying a list of available targets to the initiator. The names and IP addresses of these targets appear on the Static Discovery tab.

Static Discovery:
Static Discovery has a list of targets (IPs) it can contact and uses their IP addresses and target names to communicate with them.

To resolve this issue, we need to add VNXe iSCSI servers interfaces to iSCSI Software Adapter Discovery:
kA2f1000000X3XRCA0_2_0

Add above iSCSI interfaces IP address and Port IQN to Discovery:

kA2f1000000X3XRCA0_2_1

Once added, VNXe initiator health show green and status logged in:
kA2f1000000X3XRCA0_2_2
