Symptoms

L'integrazione NetWorker VMware Protection è configurata con l'appliance vProxy.  I backup a livello di immagine della macchina virtuale (VM) non riescono ad aprire una sessione sul dispositivo Data Domain di destinazione.  Il registro della sessione di backup mostra:

YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM:SS ERROR:  [NW_BUILD] UUID:VM_MOREF:VM_NAME: ddp_connect_with_config() failed, Hostname: DD_HOSTNAME, Err: 5037-Cannot resolve IP address from Host DD_HOSTNAME_FAILOVER for ip family 0
YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM:SS ERROR:  [NW_BUILD] UUID:VM_MOREF:VM_NAME: Unable to open session to target device "DD_HOSTNAME".

Cause

Questo sintomo può essere causato da:
  • Data Domain di destinazione non è risolvibile con DNS.
  • Le porte richieste sono bloccate tra vProxy e Data Domain.

Resolution

Effettuare le seguenti operazioni:
  1. Accedere a vProxy tramite SSH (admin) e verificare se Data Domain è risolvibile tramite DNS. L'FQDN, il nome breve e l'indirizzo IP dovrebbero rispondere correttamente: 
    1. DataDomain_FQDN nslookup
    2. DataDomain_ShortName nslookup
    3. DataDomain_IPaddress nslookup
  1. Se Data Domain non è risolvibile su DNS e/o l'errore mostra anche DD_HOSTNAME_FAILOVER aggiungere una voce di file /etc/hosts nel vProxy per Data Domain:
Nota: il nome deve corrispondere alla sintassi della risorsa Data Domain configurata in NetWorker. L'alias di failover può essere aggiunto alla stessa riga, ad esempio: 
10.0.0.10           DataDomain01.domain.com       DataDomain01      DataDomain01-failover.domain.com
  1. Verificare che il vProxy sia in grado di raggiungere Data Domain alle porte seguenti, risolvendo eventuali porte che non rispondono: 22, 111, 131, 161, 2049, 2052
