Detailed Description:
The watchdog timer is armed before the BIOS boot manager invokes an UEFI boot option. The watchdog is set to a period of 5 minutes. The Operating System boot loader from the boot option is required to disable the watchdog timer after it is successfully loaded, otherwise the system will reset if the timer expires.
Recommended Response Action:
Check the boot option image and boot loader. Update them to the latest version if possible.
Cause
The watchdog timer expired, causing the server to reset.
- The watchdog timer is armed before the BIOS boot manager invokes an UEFI boot option.
- The watchdog is set to a period of 5 minutes.
- The Operating System boot loader from the boot option is required to disable the watchdog timer after it is successfully loaded.
Resolution
1.Reboot the server
2.When the Hypervisor progress bar starts loading, press Shift+R (This must be done while the bar is loading, and not after.
3.Press Shift+R repeatedly once "server is preparing to boot" to ensure that to not miss the time frame to run the command).
A warning message is displayed:
3.Press Y to roll back the build.
4.Press Enter to boot.
5.After the server rebooted and the OS was loaded successfully.
