3. On the SNMP receiver host, add a line below with above info into /etc/snmp/snmptrapd.conf
- net-snmp-agent-libs
- net-snmp-libs
- net-snmp
/opt/nsr/snmp/NETWORKER-MIB.txt
root@networker-mc:~# cat /etc/snmp/snmptrapd.conf
# Example configuration file for snmptrapd
#
# No traps are handled by default, you must edit this file!
#
authCommunity log,execute,net public
For SNMPv3 see: NetWorker SNMPV3 Configuration
5. Start snmptrapd on the SNMP receiver host:
# snmptrapd -f -C -c /etc/snmp/snmptrapd.conf -Lf /var/log/snmptrap.log -M /usr/share/snmp/mibs -m NETWORKER-MIB &
6. Configure NetWorker job to send SNMP trap
Note;
- Backup configuration on action level only supports SNMPv2
- Backup configuration on policy level supports both SNMPv2 and v3
For SNMP v2: /usr/sbin/nsrtrap <snmp receiver IP> -c community-string
7. you can also configure "SNMP Notification request" from Server tab on NMC. Please check the Manual attached.
8. you can tail the log /var/log/snmptrap.log to see if SNMP is sent for jobs.
root@networker-mc:~# tail -n 71 /var/log/snmptrap.log
