Instructions
OS reimage is a task to initialize only the system area while preserving all data of existing customers.
Therefore, all customer's applications are preserved as before.
The network IP address and team configuration are generally preserved, but it can be deleted in some cases, so it is recommended to record the IP information in advance.
It is recommended to do in iDRAC console.
1. You must prepare the same OS image (ISO file) of the OS to be reimaged.
2. Before performing the work, you must perform a system backup.
3. Run Start -> type "msconfig" to disable all non-MS 3rd application auto start. ( Uncheck from select box )
4. If it is joined to AD, exit it and join it again after OS re-image.
Run start -> sysdm.cpl -> change to workgroup from domain.
5. Restart the system.
6. After that, follow the screenshot below to start OS Reimage.
7. Mount ISO image to OS ( Don't need to use external memory stick ) and run "setup"
After reimage, the update process can take a lot of time.
In fact, when reimaging customer's equipment, there was no response for more than several hours on the above screen. Upgrade was complete.
8. revert msconfig setting as before & re-join AD if necessary.
