XPS 15 9520 No Way to Undervolt the Computer After Bios v1.7.0

Note: This would have been possible on previous BIOS versions.

Cause

This is due to a new limitation from ADL microcode and Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU) update that does not allow voltage to be set lower than default voltage for security reasons with Microsoft.

Resolution

Dell has introduced Dynamic OC Undervolt Protection on Alder Lake platforms through BIOS updates.
