Symptoms

If the system is running a DDOS version older than 7.13.x, then the DS600 or FS240 encounters any or all the following symptoms:
  • Unable to add disk enclosure or pack from DS600 or FS240 storage enclosure.
  • Unable to create or expand Filesystem to use the new storage
  • Output from # enclosure show topology shows ' Error retrieving information':
sysadmin@someDD# enclosure show topology
Error retrieving information (**** No paths found within the system.)

Cause

DS600 or FS240 enclosures are not supported on DDOS versions older than 7.13.

Resolution

Upgrade to a supported version of DDOS, and then add the new storage enclosures.

Note: If a new enclosure is attached AFTER DDOS upgrade, then it is good practice to ensure the Head Unit (Controller) is rebooted. This ensures that Firmware is leveled on the attached storage.
