NetWorker: Uppgradering av NMC till 19.10+ på Windows Server misslyckas

Symptoms

  • Installationen misslyckas och återställs när installation av NetWorker Management Console-paketet (NMC) har valts för installation.
    • Den.. \EMC NetWorker\Management\GST\logs\gstdbinit.log rapporter: 
      waiting for server to start.... done

  • NMC-paketet installerades men NMC-serverprocessen (gstd) startar inte. Fel som loggats i .. \EMC NetWorker\GST\logs\gstd.raw anger att Postgres-modulen inte kunde läsas in.

Cause

Windows-servern saknar paketet Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022. Paketet är inte listat under:

Kontrollpanelen ->Program - Program och> funktioner

Obs! I installationsguiden för NetWorker 19.10 listas Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable som ett obligatoriskt paket för installation av NetWorker- och NMC-programvara i Windows. Installationsmanualerna för NetWorker finns under https://www.dell.com/support/home/product-support/product/networker/docs. Se NetWorker-versionsspecifik installationsguide för eventuella skillnader i beroenden.

Resolution

1. Installera X64 Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable på Windows-värden. Paketet kan erhållas från:

När paketet har installerats bör det listas under Kontrollpanelen -> Program - Program och> funktioner:

2. Installera NetWorker- och NMC-paket.

3. Verifiera att NMC-servern är tillgänglig från NMC-startprogrammet.
