Symptoms

Fan speeds may be higher in Quiet Mode than in Balance Mode in AWCC. In quiet mode, fan speed may be 5% to 10% higher than in balance mode when the computer is in an idle state.

Cause

Incorrect fan curve is applied.

Resolution

Updating the BIOS version 1.8.0 or later on the computer resolves the issue. To download and install the BIOS, refer to the Dell BIOS and UEFI Update Download and Installation Guide.
