Secured Component Verification (On Cloud) (SCV) enables you to view the manifest of your computer components upon receipt and match those results with the manifest of components that were shipped. This provides assurance that your Dell commercial computer was built and shipped as you ordered it, and that it was not tampered with along the way.
Note: The SCV service is good for 30 days from receipt. In addition, if you are using a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) to take receipt and set up your devices, the 30-day period applies to the VAR, and that Dell Technologies is not responsible for component verification once it leaves the VAR on its way to the end user.
If the customer calls in stating that the build and the shipped configuration do not match, a System Exchange should be offered by the Care team. The Customer must report the mismatch within 30 days.
How SCV Works:
- The Capability initiated from TechDirect or Dell Trusted Device
- SCV runs the manifestation using SupportAssist for Business and Dell Trusted Device to manifest of components that were shipped.
- If any mismatch is error is detected as shown in the below screenshot using TechDirect Pane and Event logger using Dell Trusted Device ask the customer to contact care for system exchange.
Note: The customer must contact Care within 30 days.
