Removing the display cable

  1. Follow the procedure in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

    3. hard drive assembly

    4. keyboard

    5. palmrest

  3. To remove the display cable:
    1. Remove the screw to release the metal tab that secures the display cable [1].
    2. Lift the metal tab to access the display cable [2].
    3. Peel the adhesive tape that secures the display cable [3].
    4. Disconnect the display cable from the connector on the system board [4].
