Removing the system board

  1. Follow the procedure in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

    3. hard drive assembly

    4. WLAN card

    5. memory

    6. keyboard

    7. palmrest

    8. display cable

    9. system fan

  3. To remove the system board:
    1. Disconnect all the cables from the connectors on the system board.
    2. Remove the screw that secures the system board to the computer [1].
    3. Lift and remove the system board from the computer [2].
