Removing the palmrest

  1. Follow the procedure in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

    3. hard drive assembly

    4. keyboard

  3. Remove the screws that secure the palmrest to the computer. Figure displaying how to remove the screws that secure the palmrest to the computer.
  4. To remove the palmrest:
    1. Open the display and release the latch to disconnect the power button, finger print reader, touchpad, and LED cables from the connectors on the system board [1, 2].
    2. Remove the screws that secure the palmrest to the computer [3].
    3. Using a plastic scribe, release the palmrest from the edges and remove it from the computer [4].
