Removing the power-distribution board
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the right-side cover.
- Remove the power-supply unit.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of the power-distribution board and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Disconnect all the cables from the connectors on the power-distribution board and unroute the cables from the routing guides.
NOTE:Ensure to note the connectors from where the cables are being disconnected.
- Disconnect the data cables and power cables from the connectors on the rear backplane and unroute the cables from the routing guides on the power-distribution board.
- Remove the four (6-32) screws that secure the power-distribution board to the chassis.
- Lift the power-distribution board to remove it from the computer.
