Procedure

  • NOTE: The appearance of the heat-sink assembly on your computer may differ from the image shown in this chapter.
  1. Disconnect the left-fan cable from the system board.
  2. Disconnect the right-fan cable from the system board. Image: Removing the heat-sink assembly
  3. Follow the procedure from step 4 to step 6 in “ Removing the fans”.
  4. Turn the system board over.
  5. In sequential order (indicated on the heat-sink assembly), remove the six screws (M2x3) that secure the heat sink assembly to the system board.
