Completing the PowerProtect Data Manager deployment on AWS

After you deploy PowerProtect Data Manager on AWS, perform the following tasks before you add PowerProtect Data Manager as a Cyber Recovery asset.

Prerequisites

  • The Cyber Recovery solution is deployed on AWS.
  • PowerProtect Data Manager is deployed on AWS.

Steps

  1. From the Cyber Recovery host management console, use SSH to access the PowerProtect Data Manager instance.
  2. Edit the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file to enable password authentication and enable outbound access.
  3. Restart the sshd service.
  4. Remove the inbound and outbound rules from the security group that you created as a prerequisite.
    The Cyber Recovery software manages the inbound and outbound rules of the PowerProtect Data Manager security group, Cyber Recovery management host, and the Cyber Recovery vault DDVE system.
  5. In the Cyber Recovery UI, add the PowerProtect Data Manager application to Cyber Recovery.

    For the Security Group Tag field in the Add Vault Application wizard, use the security group's unique tag ID that you created as a prerequisite for this deployment.
