PowerScale OneFS 9.3.0.0 CLI Command Reference

isi storagepool nodepools modify

Modifies a node pool.

Syntax

isi storagepool nodepools modify <name>
 [{--protection-policy | -p} <string>]
 [{--lnns | -n} <integer>] | [--add-lnns <integer>] | --remove-lnns  <integer>] | --node-type-ids <integer>]
 [--add-node-type-ids <integer> | --remove-node-type-ids <integer>]
 [{--tier -t} <string> | --clear-tier]
 [{--l3 | -3}{yes | no}]
 [{--assess | -a}]
 [{--set-name | -s} <string>]

Options

<string>
Name of the node pool to be modified.
--protection-policy <string>
Requested protection for the node pool. Possible protection policy values are:
  • +1n
  • +2d:1n
  • +2n
  • +3d:1n
  • +3d:1n1d
  • +3n
  • +4d:1n
  • +4d:2n
  • +4n
  • Mirror values: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x

OneFS calculates the optimal protection policy (referred to as suggested protection). If the value you set is lower than the suggested protection, OneFS displays an alert.

{--lnns | -n} <integer>
Nodes for the manually managed node pool. Specify --lnns for each additional node for the manually managed node pool.
--add-lnns <integer>
Add nodes for the manually managed node pool. Specify --add-lnns for each additional node to add.
--remove-lnns <integer>
Remove nodes for the manually managed node pool. Specify --remove-lnns for each additional node to remove.
--node-type-ids <integer>
Node type IDs for the node pool. Specify --node-type-ids for each additional node type ID.
--add-node-type-ids <integer>
Add node type IDs for the node pool. Specify --add-node-type-ids for each additional item to add.
--remove-node-type-ids <integer>
Remove node type IDs for the node pool. Specify --remove-node-type-ids for each additional item to remove.
{--tier | -t} <string>
Set parent for the node pool. Node pools can be grouped into a tier to service particular file pools.
--clear-tier

Remove the specified node pool from its parent tier.

{--l3 | -3} {yes | no}
Use SSDs in the specified node pool as L3 cache. Note that, on Isilon HD400, A200, and A2000 node pools, L3 cache is on by default and you cannot disable it. If you try to disable L3 cache on an HD400, A200, or A2000 node pool, OneFS generates the following error message: Disabling L3 not supported for the given node type.
{--assess | -a}
Test that the action is possible.
--set-name <string>
New name for the manually managed node pool.
{--verbose | -v}
Display more detailed information.
{--force | -f }
Do not ask for confirmation.

Examples

The following command specifies that SSDs in a node pool named hq_datastore are to be used as L3 cache:

isi storagepool nodepools modify hq_datastore --l3 yes

The following command adds the node pool hq_datastore to an existing tier named archive-1:

isi storagepool nodepools modify hq_datastore --tier archive-1

The following command specifies the node types to include in the node pool:

isi storagepool nodepools modify v200_25gb_8gb --node-type-ids=1,2,3

The following command adds (or merges) the node types to the specified node pool, v200_25gb_8gb:

isi storagepool nodepools modify v200_25gb_8gb --add-node-type-ids=4
