Removing the system board

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the microSD card.
  3. Remove the base cover.
  4. Remove the battery.
  5. Remove the memory module.
  6. Remove the WLAN card.
  7. Remove the coincell battery.
  8. Remove the DC-in .
  9. Remove the M.2 SSD.
  10. Remove the inner frame .
  11. Remove the heatsink.
  12. Remove the system fan.

Steps

  1. Push the dummy sim card out of the sim card slot [1, 2].
  2. Lift the latch and disconnect the following cables from the system board:
    1. LED board cable [3].
    2. USH FFC [4].
    3. Touchpad FFC [5].
    Removing the system board.
  3. Remove the two (M2x3) screws that secure the eDP bracket to the system board [1].
  4. Remove the eDP bracket away from the computer [2].
  5. Lift the eDP cable from the connector on the system board [3].

  6. Remove the five (M2x3) screws that secure the system board to the palmrest [1].
  7. Lift the system board away from the computer [2].
