Removing the M.2 2230 solid-state drive

Prerequisites

NOTE: Depending on the graphics configuration of your computer the number of M.2 card slots on your system board may vary.
NOTE: For computers with a discrete graphics processor, only SLOT 1 is available. For computers with a UMA only graphics configuration, both SLOT 1 and SLOT 2 are available.
  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Enter service mode.
  3. Remove the SIM card.
  4. Remove the microSD card.
  5. Remove the base cover.

  1. Remove the single screw (M2x4) that secures the M.2 2230 solid-state drive to the system board.
  2. Slide and remove the M.2 2230 solid-state drive from the solid-state drive slot on the system board.
