Rack management
Manage the physical groups hierarchy, and perform rack utilization for space and power using rack management features.
Prerequisites
- The devices have OpenManage Enterprise Advanced or Advanced+ and the required management console licenses. For more information, see the License requirements.
- Devices are discovered in OpenManage Enterprise. For information about discovering devices, see OpenManage Enterprise User's Guide.
- The modular server is not in a Proxied state in OpenManage Enterprise.

Steps
- Create the physical groups to replicate the group hierarchies in a data center.
- Add the unmonitored devices in Power Manager.
- Add the individual devices and unmonitored devices in physical groups.
- View Power Manager details like group metrics, policy applied, power and space headroom data, by expanding Physical Hierachy to a group level and click Group Details.
- Associate Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to a rack. For more information, see Associate PDU and UPS to rack.
- Monitor PDU and UPS information. For more information, see View PDU and UPS associated to rack in Power Manager.
