Removing the system board

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the side cover.
  3. Remove the hard-drive assembly.
  4. Remove the solid-state drive.
  5. Remove the WLAN card.
  6. Remove the fan assembly.
  7. Remove the heat sink.
  8. Remove the memory module.
  9. Remove the speaker .
  10. Remove the processor.

Steps

  1. Remove the screw (M3x5) that secures the speaker/hard drive support to the system board.
  2. Lift the speaker support away from the system board.
  3. Remove the five (M3x5) screws and two (M3x4L) screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
  4. Lift the system board away from the chassis.
