Removing the speakers

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the following components:
    1. Stand
    2. Back cover
    3. System board shield
    4. Base cover
    5. I/O bracket
  3. To disconnect the speakers:
    1. Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board [1].
    2. Remove the nine screws (M3x4+7.1) that secure the speakers to the display-assembly base [2].
    3. Unroute the speaker cable from the routing guide on the display assembly base.
    4. Lift the speakers and the speaker cable off the display assembly base [3].
