Removing the SSD card

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the following components:
    1. Stand
    2. Back cover
    3. System board shield
  3. Remove the screw (M2x2.5) that secures the SSD card to the system board [1].
  4. Slide and remove the SSD card from the card slot on the system board [2].
  5. Remove the thermal pad [3].

    NOTE: : M.2 PCIe SSD with capacity over 512G (512G/1TB/2TB) must be installed with a thermal pad. M.2 SATA SSD and M.2 PCIe SSD with 128G and 256G do not require a thermal pad.
