Data security

OME-Modular stores all sensitive data encrypted with the OME-Modular generated encryption key. All user credentials are stored with a one-way hash and cannot be decrypted.

Privileges and access based on the privileges helps protect all other data on the application. Also, OME-Modular preconfigured SeLinux policies ensure data protection and access to the OME-Modular workflows.

Cryptography

Internal services are configured with specific Access Control Lists (ACL) and ensure that only required services can have access.

OME-Modular supports industry-proven crypto algorithms for client communication. You can modify both the communication protocols and cipher suites on the Application Settings > Network > Web Server Configuration. OME-Modular allows users to determine the communication protocol that is used to communicate with clients, ranging from TLS v1.1 to TLS v1.3. Doing so, indicates if the communications are accepted or rejected from clients without the accepted TLS version. By default, TLS v1.2 and later is supported.

TLS protocol settings

Clients can negotiate to communicate with OME-Modular using their user-configured cipher or with the default cipher that is shown below. Custom cipher strings are not used when negotiation is over TLS v1.3.
