Removing the display

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery
    2. hard drive
    3. optical drive
    4. base cover
    5. display assembly
  3. To release the display assembly:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the display to the display assembly [1].
    2. Flip the display assembly [2].
    3. Remove the plastic tab from the display assembly [3].

  4. To remove the display:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the display to the display assembly [1].
    2. Release the display from the display assembly [2].
    3. Lift the display towards the front to access the display cables [3].

  5. Peel the adhesive tapes [1] [2] [4] [5] and disconnect the display cables from the connectors [3] [6].
