Removing the drive backplane
Prerequisites
CAUTION:Note the number of each drive and temporarily label them before you remove the drive so that you can replace them in the same location.
- Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions.
- Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
- Remove the front bezel.
- Remove all the drivesCAUTION:To prevent damage to the drives and backplane, remove the drives from the system before removing the backplane.
- Remove the air shroud.
- Disconnect the cables from the drive backplane.
Steps
- Press the blue release tabs to disengage the drive backplane from the hooks on the system.
- Lift and pull out the backplane out of the system.
