Removal
Power Supply Units
System Cover
Identify the system cover highlighted in blue.
Using a flat head or a Phillips screwdriver, rotate the lock counter clockwise.
Lift the latch till the system cover slides back.
Hold the cover on both sides, and lift the cover away from the system.
Cooling Shroud
Identify the air shroud highlighted in blue
Holding the touch points, lift the cooling shroud away from the system.
Cooling fan assembly
Identify the cooling fan assembly highlighted in blue.
Lift both release levers simultaneously to unlock the assembly.
Hold both release levers, and lift the assembly away from the system
System Memory
Select the system memory you want to replace
To release the memory module from the socket, simultaneously press the ejectors on both ends of the socket.
Lift and remove the memory module from the system.
Riser 1 assembly
Identify the expansion card riser 1 highlighted in blue
Pull the expansion card latch out of the slot.
Press the release latches, and lift the riser from the system board
Riser 02 Exp card & Riser 2 & 3 blank
Riser 2
Identify the expansion card riser 2 highlighted in blue
Press the release tab and lift the riser from the system board
Riser 2c
Identify the Riser 2c highlighted in blue.
Pull the expansion card latch out of the slot and pull the expansion card from the system
Lift the riser to disengage from the system board and remove.
Riser 03 assy & Riser 3 blank
Integrated storage controller card
Identify the integrated storage controller card highlighted in blue
Loosen the screws that secure the cable to the card connector on the system board
Lift the cable away from the integrated storage controller.
Lift the connector side of the card to a 45 degree angle to disengage the card and lift out of the system
Pull up on the interposer board by its edges until the board disengages from the connector
Network daughter card
Identify the network daughter card highlighted in blue
Loosen the captive screws that secure it to the system board.
Lift to disengage and slide the card towards the front of system to remove.
Internal Dual SD Module (IDSDM)
Identify the internal dual SD module (IDSDM) highlighted in blue
Pull up on the blue pull tab and lift the IDSDM out of the system
Heatsink and Processor
Identify the processor heatsink assembly highlighted in blue
Loosen the first screw three turns.
Loosen the second screw completely.
Return to the first screw and loosen it completely.
Pushing both blue retention clips simultaneously, lift the processor and heat sink module (PHM) out of the system
Place the heat sink on a flat surface with the processor side facing up
System Board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue
Disconnect all cables from the system board.
Slide it toward the front of the chassis and Incline the system board at an angle and lift the system board out of the system.
Install
System Board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue
Lower the system board into the chassis at an angle and push the system board toward the back of the chassis until the board clicks into place.
Connect all cables to the system board
Heatsink and Processor
Identify the processor heatsink assembly location highlighted in blue
Align the pin 1 indicator of the PHM to the pin 1 indicator on the system board
Rest the PHM on the processor socket
Push the blue retention clips inward to allow the heat sink to set into place.
Partially tighten the first screw (approximately 3 turns).
Tighten the second screw completely.
Return to the first screw and tighten it completely.
Internal Dual SD Module (IDSDM)
Identify the internal dual SD module (IDSDM) location highlighted in blue
Align the IDSDM connector with the connector on the system board
Press the IDSDM into the connector
Network daughter card
Identify the Network daughter card location on the system board.
Insert the card into the slot and press down on the touch points until its firmly seated.
Tighten the captive screws to secure it to the system board.
Integrated storage controller card
Identify the Integrated Storage Controller location on the system board.
Align the interposer board and press the touch point until the card connector is firmly seated.
Angle the card to engage it with the integrated storage controller card holder on the system board.
Lower the card into place until its fully seated.
Tighten the screws to secure the integrated storage controller card cable to the system board.
Riser 03 assy & Riser 3 blank
Riser 2c
Identify the Riser 2c location highlighted in blue.
Align the riser to the slot and press down to connect to the system board.
Insert the card edge connector firmly into the expansion card connector and close the latch.
Riser 2
Identify the expansion card riser 2 location highlighted in blue
Align the screw and tab on the riser with the screw hole and slot on the system
Lower the riser into the system until the riser connector engages with the connector on the system board
Riser 02 Exp card & Riser 2 & 3 blank
Riser 1 assembly
Identify the expansion card riser 1 location highlighted in blue
Align the riser with the standoffs and push the riser down until it snaps into place.
Push the expansion card latch
System Memory
Confirm the system memory you want to replace.
Align the edge connector of memory module with the alignment key of the memory module socket, and insert into the socket.
Press the memory module until the socket levers firmly click into place.
Cooling fan assembly
Identify the cooling fan location highlighted in blue.
Align the guide rails on the cooling fan assembly with the standoffs on the system
Lower the cooling fan assembly into the system
Press both release levers to lock the cooling fan assembly into the system
Cooling Shroud
Identify the cooling shroud location highlighted in blue
Align the tabs on the air shroud with the slots on the system.
Lower the air shroud into the system until it is firmly seated.
System Cover
Identify the system cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the system cover with the guide slots on the system.
Push the system cover latch down.
Using a flat head or Phillips screwdriver, rotate the lock clockwise.
