Helping Individuals with Motor Neurone Disease Preserve Their Voice and Identity

Dell Technologies, Intel, Rolls Royce and the MND Association created “I Will Always Be Me,” a first-of-its-kind book that banks your voice.

We have launched an incredible project that I would like to share with all of you. Our company was founded on the belief that technology and collaboration have the ability to solve some of the world’s greatest challenges, break down barriers and create opportunity for all. We are committed to driving human progress in collaboration with our customers and partners to come up with bold ideas to truly have a positive impact on the planet.

Motor Neurone Disease is a neurogenerative condition that deteriorates nerve cells that control muscles, and ultimately take away a person’s ability to speak. Voice banking is an often complex and time-consuming process to record a person’s voice to later develop a digital replica to help them communicate as they start to have difficulty speaking.

Partnering with Intel, Rolls-Royce and the Motor Neurone Disease Association, we have created “I Will Always Be Me,” a touching and immersive eBook. Written from the perspective of a person with MND, this book explains the condition in a thoughtful, informative way through an immersive digital experience illustrated by award-winning illustrator Nicholas Stevenson. The book transforms an often-difficult conversation and emotionally tolling and lonely process into a meaningful experience that can be shared with loved ones for a lasting impact. We hope to positively change the experience of voice banking and encourage more individuals to do so early in their diagnosis to preserve their identity as the disease inevitably takes over.
