Check in with Dell at the NEVMUG Winter Warmer 2013

The arrival of 2013 brings to the Northeast a crispness in the air, fresh snow on the ground, and – for many of us in the IT world – the New England 7th Annual Winter Warmer event at Gillette Stadium. Organized by the Virtualization Technology Users Group (VTUG) and the New England VMware Users Group (NEVMUG), this event will bring together over a thousand IT professionals, including users, vendors, VARs and experts in such areas as virtual servers, virtual desktops, enterprise storage, data protection, and security on Thursday, January 17th, from 8AM to 6PM. I’m psyched about the prospects of meeting with fellow members of the V-community, and especially with Dell customers, who never fail to share fascinating
insights with us.

Of course, Dell will be participating in the Winter Warmer in full force. If you take the time to drop by our booth in the expo, you can take in a storage product demo, or bring questions for the Dell solutions executives and specialists who’ll be there to address.

Ready for a deep dive? Our Technical Marketing Engineers, Will Urban (@VirtWillU) and Dave Glynn (@d_glynn), are putting the finishing touches to their Hands-On Lab (“Getting the Most Out of Your EqualLogic Storage Solution”), to run from 1:30 to 4:30 in Breakout Room Red 25. Seats always fill up fast, so get there early to work directly with the hardware and software products that you may soon be deploying in your production environment. The EqualLogic Hands-On Lab will include exercises involving SAN administration, configuration and performance analysis, OS-integrated deployment with VMware, Windows Server and Hyper-V, and Linux, and application integration with Tier 1 apps like SQL Server, Exchange
Server
, and SharePoint. This is a great opportunity to start getting these technologies under your belt in a fun, self-paced, controlled, development-type environment.

We’ll have some Compellent experts there as well, including Vikram Belapurkar (@VirtualStorageV), who can answer questions about the state of our integration with VMware vSphere and VMware View.

Be sure to register to attend this year’s Winter Warmer if you haven’t already. Once you are there, we hope to see you at the booth and the EqualLogic hands-on lab. Follow my tweets (@a_SAN_a), Alison Krause’s (@AlisonatDell) and Dell Storage (@dell_storage) for up-to-the-minute news about the event (as well as for New England Patriots sightings)!

Safe travels and stay warm!
