No POST After Abnormal Shutdown on Latitude Laptops

Symptoms
Affected Platforms:
- Latitude 7320
- Latitude 7420
- Latitude 7520
Customers may report that after an abnormal shutdown, they computer cannot complete POST without displaying an LED code. This issue may occur on BIOS v1.34.2 and 1.35.0.
Cause
Hynix memory initialization failed due to the wrong memory refresh rate after an abnormal shutdown.
Resolution
To Resolve:
- Update the BIOS to v1.36.0 or later.
- If the customer is unable to update the BIOS, have them do an RTC reset to recover from the issue (for more information, reference How to Reset the Real-Time Clock to Recover Your Dell Laptop).
- If the RTC reset does not resolve the issue, proceed with a Hard Reset. Reference How to Perform a Hard Reset on a Computer Easily and Effectively
