Symptoms
When SupportAssist for Home PCs v4.0.5 is launched for the first time, it may open a blank screen as in the image below.

Resolution
The issue can be resolved by resetting SupportAssist.
SupportAssist can be reset directly from the setting or from the start menu.
From Settings:
- Press Windows key + I to open the Settings app or search Settings in the Search option.
- Go to Apps and then to Installed apps.
- Type SupportAssist in the search field at the top.
- Click the three-dot button next to the SupportAssist app and choose Advanced options.
- Scroll down to the Reset section and click the Reset button.
From the Start Menu:
- Open the Start menu.
- Click the All-apps button.
- Look for SupportAssist and right-click SupportAssist App.
- Click More, then select App settings, which take you to the SupportAssist App settings page
- Scroll down to the Reset section and click the Reset button

- Open or launch SupportAssist to confirm it is working or not.
- If the issue persists, Restart the computer.
- Wait for 5 minutes by clock, it allows all SupportAssist related to services to initiate.
- Open or launch SupportAssist to confirm the issue is not recurring. This is a known issue with SupportAssist v4.0.5 and will be fixed as part of the next SupportAssist consumer release v4.6 scheduled in September 2024. Once SupportAssist v4.6 is released, you are prompted to upgrade when you open or launch SupportAssist.
