Disabling Call Home
Steps to disable call home for Block-Only:
You can disable call home responses for a user-determined time period between the 30 minute minimum and the 240 minute maximum.Steps on how to disable call home using Navisphere CLI:
Use
naviseccli on a Windows management client to disable call home:
naviseccli eventmonitor -monitor -disableresponse -user <user> -password <password> -scope 0 -server <SP A IP Address> -time <min>Example:
naviseccli eventmonitor -monitor -disableresponse -user sysadmin -password sysadmin -scope 0 -server 192.168.5.6 -time 60Steps on how to disable call home using Unisphere:
- Log in to the storage system or the Unisphere domain that contains the storage system.
- From Unisphere, select System > Monitoring and Alerts > Notification and select the Distributed Monitors tab.
- Right-click the name of SP A in the list of distributed monitors for the storage system on which you are disabling call home and select Disable or Enable Responses. The Disable or Enable Responses dialog box appears.
- Select the Disable Responses check box and set a time period during which responses are disabled for the anticipated maintenance activity. Then click OK. In the message box that appears, click Yes to confirm.
- Repeat these steps for SP B.
Steps to disable call home for Unified:

As the root user, disable Connect Home:
# /nas/sbin/nas_connecthome -service stop

Disable the email notification service:
# /nas/bin/nas_emailuser -modify -enabled no

Verify that the email notification service has stopped (is not enabled):
# /nas/bin/nas_emailuser -info

- Log in to the storage system or the Unisphere domain that contains the storage system.
- From Unisphere, select System > Monitoring and Alerts > Notification and select the Distributed Monitors tab.
- Right-click the name of SP A in the list of distributed monitors for the storage system on which you are enabling call home and select Disable or Enable Responses. The Disable or Enable Responses dialog box appears.
- Clear the Disable Responses check box and click OK.
- Repeat these steps for SP B.
Steps to enable call home for Unified:
- As the root user, clear any existing Connect Home files and enable Connect Home:
# /nas/sbin/nas_connecthome -service start -clear
- From the Connect Home configuration, determine the connections that are enabled:
# /nas/sbin/nas_connecthome -i
- Verify that Connect Home works with the
/nas/sbin/nas_connecthome -testcommand for each enabled connection.
For example:
# /nas/sbin/nas_connecthome -t -email_1
# /nas/sbin/nas_connecthome -t -email_2
# /nas/sbin/nas_connecthome -t -https
# /nas/sbin/nas_connecthome -t -modem_1
- Verify that email notifications are configured:
# /nas/bin/nas_emailuser -infoIf the Recipient Addresses field is empty, email notifications are not configured and it does not have to be enabled. If you want to configure email notifications, use the
/nas/bin/nas_emailuser command or Unisphere to configure it. If the Recipient Addresses field is populated, email notifications are enabled.
Re-enable email notifications:
- Enable email notifications:
# /nas/bin/nas_emailuser -modify -enabled yes
- Verify that the email notification works:
# /nas/bin/nas_emailuser -info
- Test the configuration and verify that the configured Recipient Addresses received the test email:
# /nas/bin/nas_emailuser -test
