Symptoms

Individual clients consistently fail daily. Other clients in the group complete without issue. These failing clients nsrexecd process is using port 7938 instead of 7937.
 

The daemon.raw reports:
MM/DD/YY HH:MM:SS PM networkerlab1.testlab.emc.com nsrexecd SYSTEM critical Failed to bind socket for NSR authentication service: Cannot assign requested address

Cause

The failing client's service ports range has been modified. Verify with nsrports on the client.

[root@lnx-client01]:~# nsrports
Service ports: 7937-7938
Connection ports: 0-0

Resolution

Revert the client's service port range to the default 7937-9936 with the nsrports command: 

[root@lnx-client01]:~# nsrports -S 7937-9936
[root@lnx-client01]:~# nsrports
Service ports: 7937-9936
Connection ports: 0-0

Restart the client services on the NetWorker client:

Linux: systemctl restart networker
Windows:
net stop nsrexecd /y
net start nsrexecd
