Symptoms



From the application event log we can see that the installs are failing with error 1720

From the MSI Installer logs we can see that there are two customer scripts run during the installation.
The first one succeeds

However the second one which queries WMI does not.

Cause

There appears to be a corrupt WMI repository on the server.

Resolution

Microsoft should be contacted to verify and rebuild the WMI repository
