RCC requires a restart between uninstalling and reinstalling the application
You get an installation error if you uninstall RCC on Windows 10 or 11 and then install RCC without restarting your device first.
If you have uninstalled RCC, then restart your device before you re-install it on that same device and you avoid this.
RCC does not have an auto update function when you upgrade to the latest version of the Windows Operating System
There are different versions of the Rugged Control Center application that only work on certain revisions of the Windows operating system.
The older the application revision, the older version of Windows it works with. (For Example: RCC2.3 works with Windows 7.)
RCC does not include the ability to self-update. Which means if you update your operating system to the latest version of Windows available: The application does not detect this and update to a version that supports that operating system version. It often results in incompatibility issues.
To resolve this, follow these steps after the operating system upgrade is complete:
-
Update the RCC application:
-
Go to the Dell Support Site.
-
Enter the service tag or express service code to get drivers specific to how your device shipped.
Alternatively you can choose your Latitude rugged device from the product list to get a general list of drivers for that device.
