No Video on HDMI to a 4K display
Owners of Alienware Aurora gaming and Precision Tower workstation desktops have reported a video issue with their NVIDIA RTX 3070, 3080, and 3090 add-in graphics cards.
The RTX Series:
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8GB GDDR6
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB GDDR6X
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 24GB GDDR6X
They report the following symptoms:
- It displays No video after a warm reboot (restart).
- Reseating the High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) video cable resolves the issue for a time. (The HDMI connector is at the back of the desktop and at the back of the display.)
- The problem goes away when you change the video cable to a DisplayPort (DP) cable.
