Symptoms

When Dell PowerStore encounters a problem, an error alert is generated to help identify the issue. Alert ID ONV_ICC_NETWORK_PING_STATUS_BLOCKING_UNREACHABLE
Alert Text Intracluster data network addresses are not reachable over ICMP from %(count) addresses.
Error Code (0x01807805)
Impact Software update on NAS-enabled appliances may fail. Migration of resources across the cluster may be impacted.
Resolution Cause:
Intracluster data network addresses are not reachable over ICMP.
Note: Configuring vlan dot1q tag native causes all frames being sent out a trunk port to be tagged, ignoring the native VLAN.
Solution:
Check cabling and VLAN configuration within the nodes and switches. For more information, go to Monitoring Tab> Alerts/Events in PowerStore Manager and click the description of the alert which opens a pane at the right-hand side with IP address details to diagnose.

Alert Text Network MTU sizes are not consistent for %(count) addresses.
Error Code (0x01807806)
Impact Network connectivity and performance may be impacted. Software update on NAS-enabled appliances may fail. Migration of resources across the cluster may be impacted.
Resolution Cause:
Network MTU sizes are not consistent.

Solution:
Check the port MTU sizes of switches and ensure that they correspond to the network MTU (required_mtu). For more information, go to Monitoring Tab> Alerts/Events in PowerStore Manager and click the description of the alert which opens a pane at the right-hand side with IP address details to diagnose.
