Symptoms

When Consistency Group is found not to be running, the secondary reason codes, for example 8 (device not found) or 13 (congroup name not found) may be returned. 

These RS codes are misleading. 
                        

Cause

This is caused by a software issue.

Resolution

The message processing has been enhanced to issue an RS 6 in circumstances where a Consistency Group is not found: 

GDDM441E CGRPQDEV error occurred - Function code 5, ConGroup name, RC 8, RS 6 (CG not active)

Permanent Fix: 
  • For Mainframe Enablers 8.5, PTF SF85101 has been developed to correct the issue. It is available to download from Dell Online Support.
  • For Mainframe Enablers 8.4, PTF SF84168 has been developed to correct the issue. It is available to download from Dell Online Support.
