Dell Security Management Server Virtual Administration Console May be Inaccessible After an Upgrading to v11.6

  • v11.6

Cause

The installation of an incompatible version of psutil during the upgrade process is the cause of this issue.

Resolution

A manual install of the compatible version of psutil is required to resolve this issue.

To install the compatible version of psutil:

  1. Log in to the Dell Security Management Server Virtual administration console using the dellsupport user.

Note:
  • The default credentials for Dell Security Management Server Virtual are:
    • Username: dellsupport
    • Password: dellsupport
  • An administrator can change the default password within the product’s virtual appliance menu.
  1. Type sudo pip install psutil==5.9.1 and press Enter.

  1. Verify dialogue indicating the successful install of psutil 5.9.1 appears.

  1. Type sudo reboot and press Enter.

  1. Log in to the Dell Security Management Server Virtual administration console using the delluser user.

Note:
