PowerEdge - Hardware Compatibility alert for disks in vSAN - Device not compliant with VCG
Summary: Customer might experiencing a Hardware Compatibility alert for disk in vSAN - Device not compliant with VCG - preventing the drives from being upgraded.

Symptoms
You may notice that the drives PPID is including Hyphen (since 5.10.30.00) or an extra '0' was introduced to the Disk part number and it skipped sixth character.
Due to this, drives PN is not correctly extracted and Disks are reported as not Compliant due to this.
Example:PH0H6GCDTBPKK17T0DVRA00 > H6GCDPH-0H6GCD-TBPKK-17T-0DW1-A00 > 0H6GC
As a workaround we can suggest customer not to upgrade the iDRAC firmware until the fix is available. Alternatively customer can manually upgrade the hard drive firmware alone through iDRAC console.
Note: vSAN or vCenter does not have any inbuilt feature to fetch the iDRAC information or the components part number. Either OMIVV or OMEVV helps in getting those information captured.
Cause
This Issue is affected from iDRAC firmware version was 5.10.30.00 and later. Nonaffected iDRAC FW version is 5.00.20.00.
Resolution
Update OMEVV and plug in to the latest version
The fix is also in OpenManage Enterprise (OME) 3.10.
