Symptoms

The syslog error message missing the interface where the command came from and it is missing the command code that was invalid.

 %FCNS-3-BAD_FRAME: %$VSAN 99%$ : Invalid CT command code

Found in code NX-OS 8.1.1

Source interface is also missing for the error message in show fcns internal errors:

Cause

Cisco bug - CSCvs19448

This occurs when the attached device sends in an invalid FCNS command.

Resolution

The syslog has been modified to include the invalid command code, the FCID, and the interface as follows:

 switchname %FCNS-3-BAD_FRAME: %$VSAN 1%$ : Invalid CT command code[0xfef7] from device[0xea0000], interface[fc1/14]

A similar change was done to the message in show fcns internal errors.

Fix:
Upgrade to NX-OS 8.42 and higher
